I Thought I Would Not Live To 50, But God Turned My Life Around

I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. – Psalm 118:17

There are times when affliction can make a person lose hope and even believe that their story will end prematurely. But when God steps into a life, He can overturn years of suffering, restore what was lost, and give a person a new reason to live and testify.

Chosen praise the Lord! By the special grace of God, my name is Brother Anthony Abraham Kumeka. I am from Katsina State, Maruashi Region, and I joined The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministry here in Kaduna in 2013. I thank God for making me a Chosen.

Before I came into this ministry, my brother and sister, I was living a life that was not pleasing to God. I was also passing through many afflictions, and every day, it seemed as if death was before me. I had already concluded in my heart that I would not live up to 50 years in this world.

But by the special grace of God, everything changed when I came into The Lord’s Chosen. It was during the opening of the new auditorium here in Kaduna in 2013. My sister, who was in Kaduna, called me while I was far away in Daura and told me that our Daddy G.O. was coming to Kaduna and asked if I would come. I said yes, and she sent me transport fare. That was how I came to Kaduna.

At that time, I was suffering from different sicknesses and afflictions. At night, I would urinate countless times. I could no longer eat some of the foods I loved, such as pounded yam, fufu and corn meals. I was even afraid of drinking water because whenever I drank water, it seemed as if it would immediately pass through me and I would need to urinate. If I sat down for about five minutes, I could urinate on myself.

But on that faithful day when our Daddy G.O. came to Kaduna, I saw many miracles happening in the church. I said to myself, “Today, I will not go home the same way I came.”

I saw people who had been brought into the church because they could not walk. When Daddy G.O. said, “Rise up and walk,” they stood up and began to walk. I said, “My own problem will be solved today.”

Then Daddy G.O. mentioned diabetes and constant urination. He cancelled the evil and declared that the person would urinate once or would not urinate at all, and he commanded the person to receive healing in Jesus’ name.

I shouted, “Amen!”

From that moment, the constant urination stopped. That day, before the prayer, I had gone out to urinate twice, and the second time was so embarrassing that before I could reach the place, I urinated on myself.

When I returned home that same day, my sister prepared food for me. It was food I had been unable to eat before, but I ate it and drank two sachets of water. Amazingly, I did not urinate again until the following day.

That was the first great thing God did for me, and I testified in the church.

I also want to sincerely ask God for mercy because He has done so many things for me, yet I failed to testify during the international crusades. I am sorry, Lord. I ask this great God to forgive me and have mercy on me.

After I left Kaduna and returned to Katsina, I continued worshipping God in the Maruashi Region, where I served in the Evangelism Department.

In 2023, I experienced another great intervention from God. I was having severe and constant headaches that prevented me from sleeping at night. On Sunday, 12th February 2023, I went to the hospital in the morning. They had to send someone to buy equipment to check my blood pressure because the one they had in the hospital had developed a fault.

While I was waiting, they gave me an injection and asked me to wait for about 30 minutes for my condition to improve. In the process, I suddenly became paralysed. My right hand and right leg could no longer move. While I was sitting there, I even urinated on the chair.

They took me to the ward and placed me on a bed, but there was no treatment. Around 12 noon, I began calling upon the God of Chosen. I told Him, “If You allow this thing to happen to me, I have no one else to help me.”

Then, around 5:00 p.m., the God of Chosen intervened in a great way. I suddenly rose from the bed, and my entire body was restored.

I went to the doctor’s office, but the doctor was not there, and his assistant was also unavailable. I requested my medication, collected it, and left the hospital for my home.

There is another miracle I cannot fail to mention. In 2007, while I was still in Daura, I was taking my bath one day when I noticed something like a pimple on my manhood. The following day, it was still there. On the third day, I tried to burst it so that the pus would come out, but immediately I touched it, severe pain began.

From 2007 until 2013, I took different medications and tried various treatments to make the pain stop, but it persisted. Then, in 2013, when I encountered The Lord’s Chosen, God rolled the affliction away.

God has done so many wonderful things for me, but I could not return to testify. Even during the Kano crusade in 2018 and other crusades that followed, I failed to give these testimonies.

Today, I recognise that I have done wrong by keeping silent about the works of God in my life. I therefore come before this great God to ask for mercy and forgiveness. I am grateful that He has preserved my life, healed me from constant urination, restored my body from paralysis, and delivered me from an affliction that lasted for years.

I have come to return all the glory, honour and adoration to God for everything He has done for me. Truly, I shall not die, but live and declare the works of the Lord.
