How He Escaped Kidnappers And Recovered ₦9 Million
Psalm 124:6–7 (KJV)
6. Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
7. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

My name is Ebele Nwora. This is my son, Chiedozie Nwora. We live at Jesus Village, Lagos State.
I stand here to testify to what God has done in the life of my son. God has been incredibly good, faithful beyond words.
On Monday March 9, 2026, my son, who was serving as a corps member, went about his normal routine. After his duties, he decided to travel to Ikeja. He boarded a bus at Mile 2, on top of the bridge. According to him, they had not even reached Second Rainbow when he suddenly fell asleep.
When he woke up, he found himself in an uncompleted building, surrounded by eight young men. They were shouting at him. At that same time, my phone rang.
I had just returned from the market and was getting off a bike when I noticed the missed call. I called back immediately. Someone else answered and said, “Come and talk to your mother.”
Then I heard my son’s voice, weak and distressed.
“Mummy, please give them the money. Mummy, please give them the money.”
I was alarmed. I asked, “Who is this? Let me speak to them.”
But instead of engaging them, I began to declare in faith: “He is a Chosen. He is a Chosen. He is a Chosen. God of my Pastor, where are you?”
They abruptly ended the call.
Immediately, I contacted my branch Pastor and explained everything. I felt a strong prompting to go to the church, so I rushed there, knelt down, and began to pray.
While I was there, they called again. This time, they sent a picture; my son stripped, beaten, bruised all over his body.
It was a horrifying sight.
But even then, I refused to give in to fear. I sent a message back: “He is a Chosen. Release him.”
That night was a vigil night. I joined the vigil, and my Pastor gathered others around to pray with me. Just before midnight, my phone rang again.
My Pastor told me to answer it.
This time, it was my son.
“Mummy,” he said, “they have dropped me at Agbara.”
Relief washed over me.
He asked me to send money so he could return home, which I did immediately. Together, we began to thank God.
When he returned, we took him to the hospital for treatment and later went to the police station to file a report.
He explained that his attackers had forced him to transfer money. They accessed his phone, saw his banking apps, and compelled him to move funds from his GTBank account to his Opay account, and then onward to their POS terminal. After completing the transaction, they destroyed the POS device and told him, “You cannot trace us.”
The amount taken was nine million naira, money his father had entrusted to him.
Naturally, he was devastated.
But I told him, “Forget the money. Your life is more important.”
The next morning, when we went to the bank to confirm the loss, something extraordinary happened.
The money was still there.
Intact. Untouched.
How God did it, I cannot explain. But the money was there.
I give God all the glory.
There is one more thing my son shared. While they were transporting him to Agbara, his captors were talking among themselves. One said, “From now on, whenever we pick someone, we will first ask if they are Chosen. We will not carry any Chosen member again.”
I thank God for proving Himself.
I pray for our pastor, that God will continue to strengthen and uphold him, granting him every grace and anointing he needs.
For my family, and for all members, I pray: heaven at last, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Son’s Account
“Chosen, praise the Lord.”
I also want to thank God for what He has done for me.
It was not easy. I was beaten severely. I was using an iPhone, and when they accessed it, they became excited after seeing the money in my accounts. They used my face to unlock my phone and authorize transactions. They forced me to transfer the money and mocked me, saying, “Try to stop us if you can.”
While they were taking me away, they said that next time, before abducting anyone, they would first confirm whether the person is a Chosen member. One of them even said that, of all the people they had ever kidnapped, I was the most difficult case.
They injured me badly. I am a campus chorister, and during the beating, they struck my throat. For days, I could not speak or eat.
But by the grace of God, the injuries healed within a week.
Today, I am well.
I give God all the glory.
I also pray for my Pastor, heaven at last.
Chosen is first class.
