The God of Chosen Answers Prayer.

How God Rewrote My Story
Psalm 126:2–3 – Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them. The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.
Time and time again, it has been proven that when God steps into a man’s story, the impossible becomes ordinary, and long-buried hopes rise again. This testimony you’re about to read is the journey of a brother who walked into church empty-handed and overwhelmed, yet today God has rewritten his story. Read how it all happened below:
My name is Brother John Chijioke Chukwukaelo, and every November I return to this altar for one reason: to honour the God who raised me from nothing and placed my feet on stable ground. Everything I am, and everything I will ever be, flows from His mercy.
When I first came to this church, my life was collapsing. My finances were nonexistent. I had a wife and a small daughter, yet I could not feed them. Our General Overseer would often urge us, “Put your hand into something.” So I tried. The only work available was a contract security job. Before I began, a pastor prayed with me and said something that felt impossible at the time:
“God has spoken. He will make you great.”
I held those words tightly. And from the day I stepped into that job, God began unfolding a story I still struggle to comprehend.
Earlier this year, I testified about failing to redeem a ₦100,000 pledge. I ignored the instruction, and the enemy almost used it to cost me my job. I won’t go into details for confidentiality reasons, but it was a close call. Months later, on October 12th, I made another impromptu pledge of the same amount. That night, I dreamt of our Daddy in the Lord standing at a kiosk, handing bread to people who gave their offerings. When my turn came, he didn’t give me bread. Instead, he stepped out, laid his hand on me, and released blessings so powerful I woke up overwhelmed.
Right then, I knew: God had restored me.
First, I want to thank Him for granting me safe journeys to and from the East this year. He preserved my life.
Now to the miracle of my job. I stand here as a man without political connections, without relatives in high places, and without more than a basic school certificate. Yet God placed me in a company I had no natural qualification to enter. This year, I became a confirmed staff member.
I say this to encourage someone who may be sinking under fear or discouragement. If you think your hope is gone, let my life show you that God can start building even when you believe everything is finished.
At the end of each business year, my company gives bonuses. This year, my bonus came to ₦2,035,709.60. For someone with my background, this is nothing less than divine favour.
Though I am naturally an introvert who hardly goes out, God has been preparing my future quietly. I turned 50 on April 28th, and my pension management upgraded me from Form 2 to Form 3. Today, my pension savings sit above ₦13 million, with quarterly contributions and profit returns exceeding ₦1 million every three months.
Some time ago, I heard a doctorate degree holder call into a radio program to share his salary. I listened carefully. His pay was far below mine. I sat there in disbelief and quietly asked God, “Is this how You work?”
Because here I am: a man with only a school certificate earning almost triple what a PhD holder earns.
When I joined this ministry, I could not feed my two-year-old daughter. Today, she is in her third year at UNIZIK studying Civil Engineering. My second daughter, waiting for admission, is learning fashion design. My remaining three children are in private school. And God has established my wife’s business in Yaba market.
What more can I say? Without God, I am nothing. With Him, my entire household has flourished.
To the God of Chosen, I say: Thank You, for lifting me, providing for me, restoring me, and shaping a future I never could have imagined.
Chosen, praise the Lord.
