God Transformative Power: A Journey From Sorrow To Joy
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call – Joel 2:32
The ever-present help in time of trouble delivered our sister and turned her sorrows to joy. Please read her testimony below.
My name is Basilia Okoro, I joined The Lord’s Chosen in 2007 at the Mgbidi program. At that time, I was engulfed in sorrow and suffering.
During the program, I witnessed many miraculous things happening. I asked the sister beside me if my life would change if I started attending The Lord’s Chosen, and she assured me it would.
After the program, I went back to my village meeting and announced that I was no longer participating in anything related to the meeting, as I was now born again. I had been a part of that meeting for a long time, and suffering had overwhelmed me.
My sister-in-law, who is the chair lady of the meeting, told me that if I left, I would no longer have anyone to borrow money from to feed my children or pay rent. Despite this, I continued to attend The Lord’s Chosen and prayed to God.
God turned those sorrowful words spoken to me into joy when the State Pastor of Onitsha in Anambra State visited, I didn’t attend the Tuesday services because of my business, as I sold goods at the evening market. However, one Sunday, the pastor encouraged everyone to try to attend the evening services if they could.
So, on the following Tuesday, I packed my wheelbarrow and headed to church. During prayer, the pastor said that everyone should pray for millions. I told God that although I didn’t know how to count millions, I had given birth to someone who could. I asked Him to bless my first daughter with millions.
When I got home after the service, my daughter called me and said that the company she had been working for over 20 years had just paid her millions. That was how God brought me out of poverty.
My daughter built a house for me in Asaba, and now I can eat whatever I want. My son, who had been overseas for a long time and was suffering, couldn’t even find food to eat and couldn’t come back home.
I kept praying to God to bring him back, even if it was just to say “thank you” to me. During one of our combined services, my state pastor mentioned my case, saying, “There is someone here who has a son overseas and is looking for how to send him money to buy a ticket to come back to Nigeria. God has opened his door.”
I told my son that the pastor had mentioned his case and that God would bring him out of suffering. He said, “Amen.” After three weeks, he called my daughter and asked what was lacking in the family.
My son bought rice, provisions, and many things, and even built a house for me in the village. I became the landlord of two houses. I kept telling those who were rejoicing me that my daughter would join me to serve God in the Lord’s Chosen. With joy in my heart, I began to sing a song saying, “If you are not a Chosen, try and become a Chosen.”
Glory to God.
