From Grass To Grace

He raises the poor out of the dust, and lifts the needy out of the ash heap.

Sometimes in life, we are faced with challenges that seem to overwhelm us but our confidence is that we have a God that changes situations. He has done it again. Read this amazing life-changing testimony of our Sister.

My name is Sis. Joyce Linus. I come from Kaduna state, I worship in the state headquarters. I thank God for making my family and I Chosen. I joined this Great Commission in a program titled “WHOM THE KING DELIGHTS TO HONOUR” in 2011.

I came to thank this God because He is a dependable God.
It all happened that my family and I were extremely poor. As a matter of fact, the poverty that came into my home has no rivalry. It was terrible. It was the kind of poverty that made even the poor people to call you poor. but thank God we ran into the Lord’s Chosen Church and kept following. We could not eat at all, we soaked garri, and the garri that we soaked, was bought on credit. We even do soak and travel so that it will be enough for us.

At a point, the poverty became very turgid to the extent I had nothing in the shop. I had wanted to start frying akara(Beans Cake) but my husband rejected the idea vehemently.

We kept following the Lord sheepishly because we usually hear great testimonies in this church. In 2018, they brought a Pastor for us and I went and met him and asked him to pray for my home and narrated everything to him. The debt we owed was like Mount Kilimanjaro. He asked me if I and my husband are chosen and I said yes, so he asked me to tell him to come and see him.

When I got home, I told my husband but he was surprised that I had already seen the new state pastor and tabled our family affairs to him. However, he followed me to go and see him. When we got there, after asking us so many questions, he prayed for us and said “From this day, the Lord will remember us”. Then he asked us to go and pray that in no distant time, God will remember us.

In less than three days, my husband went to his shop and there was nothing in the shop but as he was praying, his phone started ringing but because he was praying, he couldn’t pick up, after praying, the phone started ringing again and it was somebody we have lost contact with for over 15years and he said to him, Mr. Linus where are you? He said “I am at Kaduna Sir” then he said okay, I have a job of over 4 million naira for you. Brethren in the Lord, I tell you this job of 4 million naira was coming every two [2] weeks for over 1 year.

When the money was coming consistently, we started paying our debts one by one and that was how God delivered us from debt.

During the period of financial difficulties in my family, my husband came to me and said “Mommy, I will give you a crown” (in Igbo language) When God opened the book of chronicles of goodness for us, he said to me “which country do you want to go to?” I never knew that was the crown he wanted to give to me. So, I said to him I wanted to go to China because God said we should ask for big things so we started processing it, but because it was just fresh, I couldn’t go to China but I went to Dubai and that was how God changed my name to DUBIA WOMAN ( ‘Nwanyi Dubai’ in IGBO language) at Kaduna.

My second testimony goes like this;
It came to a point that my children were writing exams, they would pass but admission wouldn’t be given to them. They kept writing Jamb concurrently for five years without admission. I was trying to figure out what the problem was. So, one of the days, I traveled to my husband’s village and was discussing with one of the Uncles.

At the cause of the discussion, he said to me at least I can beat my chest and say I am the only graduate in this compound. That didn’t go down well with me at all. How will I have seven children and 1 person is saying he is the only graduate in the compound, what happens to my children? So I changed my prayer point and I prayed recklessly that night. I had a dream, I dreamt, where I saw my first and other four sons standing on a roundabout in Corpers uniform.

That was how that same year, my children bought Jamb form and the Lord gave my four boys admission at the same time. As I talk to you now, three have graduated and are serving already their father’s land, while two will be graduating this year.

My third testimony about my sixth child. He wrote Jamb last year and was looking for admission in Airforce but they said the course he is asking for is highly competitive. However, I believed that there was no impossibility with this God of the Chosen and we kept praying. A sister there said she was going to make sure he got that admission. So, when the admission list started coming out, my son wasn’t given admission so, I called the sister, and she said we should not worry, that they were still giving admission.

At one point, I was restless, so I asked him to go and check and as he checked, it happened that the God of Chosen had given him admission. So, I called the sister and asked her about the family, and she was shocked when I told her that my son had gained admission and she said God of Chosen is a protocol breaker.

As I speak to you now, I’m expecting six (6) graduates from my family. I have come to return all the glory to this God who has decorated and beautified my life and all these things happened because I remained a Chosen. Let his name be glorified and magnified in Jesus Name.
