Divine Escape: How God Pulled Her Out Of A Kidnapper’s Shuttle – Easter Retreat 2025

In the face of fear and confusion, the merciful God, the One who never sleeps nor slumbers, made a way where there seemed to be no way and delivered our sister from what appeared to be a hopeless situation. Please read her testimony below.

My name is Mariam Akpan.I joined the Lord’s Chosen in 2022, and I worship at the Festac branch.

Some time ago, my sister asked me to come and stay with her because her children were not around. I agreed and stayed with her for about two weeks. On a certain Thursday morning, I told her I wanted to leave, but she advised me not to go because the area wasn’t safe. However, I insisted on going because I needed to meet someone before 6:00 p.m.

Around 5:30 p.m., she asked her husband’s brother and the gateman to escort me to the bus stop. When we got there, I saw three men, one of whom was holding a Bible. I entered a shuttle bus, and those three men entered with me. Immediately, the bus took off at full speed. I sensed something was wrong, and I began to call on the God of Chosen in my heart. Suddenly, the bus conductor shouted at me to shut up and instructed everyone who entered the bus with me to drop their phones into a bag. The other passengers already in the bus seemed unresponsive, like people under a spell. I continued praying silently.

Then, the bus driver suddenly told the conductor to return everything he had collected from me. The conductor was angry but eventually obeyed and gave me back my belongings. After some time, the driver told me and the man holding the Bible to jump out of the moving vehicle. I hesitated, but he warned me that if I didn’t, they would take me wherever they were going. I cried out to the God of Chosen in my heart. The man with the Bible jumped out of the moving vehicle, and I followed him. We landed on sand. Miraculously, I looked at my body and there was no bruise or injury at all. We both ran to a safer and more comfortable location.
I want to thank the God of Chosen for this divine deliverance. I also use this opportunity to pray for our General Overseer. May God continue to bless him, protect him, and be with him wherever he goes, along with all the pastors. Heaven at last for all Chosen members, in Jesus’ name.
